Title: Thoughts on Crome bumpers front and back from Vintage Euro Part
Post by: Pinder on July 31, 2022, 00:46:37
Has anyone bought the chrom bumbers front and back from Vintage Euro? are they any good? are they chrome?  Im thinking of getting those instead of re chrome my originals.

Any opinions on this?

thanks.

Hi Pinder, I bought a left hand side front bumper approximately one year ago to replace a damaged one. Item was packaged well and Delivered in great condition. Appears to be chrome. I painted internal surface to match how it would have left factory. Price is right.

Hello again. I just bought the Right side front bumper. Arrived in great condition. Chrome is bright and even. Not full concourse but very good for the price.  Also note that bumpers are “European “ style. So no over rider holes.

Hope this helps.

Thank you Delvis. I ended up getting front and back.  They are chrome. they look great. I did not paint the inside and in reflection i should  have. I am getting old and lazy.

I will do soon.I installed them and the front grill. Its amazing how much more finished the car looks. I will also be re chroming the door handles and a few other odds and ends to give it a little polish and pop.   Im also working on the carpet install and fixing the dented  threshold chrome which takes a lot of time but is coming along very well. Its a slow process.

Looks great!

I remember reading somewhere that you had to be a little careful when fitting a replacement grille as the originals tended to be very specific to the hood and surrounding metalwork. Did you have any issues with fitment at all?

How bad was the grille that you replaced? I ask because mine has some dings in it and I've not gotten round to pricing up the cost of repair/rechrome vs replace (I'm guessing it's not a pretty calc!).

It does look like a reasonable price to fix up a few problem areas at once.

mine had 3 dings and the chrome was not great. the new outer ring was $600. fitments was very close not perfect but really good. If I took a little more time to shim the lower edge i could get it to fit really. well. The one I got is chome and it looks very good.

I love the automatic. I wish mine was. I would drive it more.
