Title: Ohm resistance of the resistance for the 3.5 tachometer
Post by: opopotts on April 30, 2022, 21:39:23
Does anyone know What the ohm resistance is for the electric tach for the 1971 3.5 coupe so I can buy one ?

I would think it is the same tach for some earlier cars as well. My ‘68 280SE has an electronic tach. Not sure when they went from mechanical to electronic. Maybe contact people like Pablo Alto speedometer? They may have spares.

The 250SE coupe uses an electric tack a well. The one I had once and the 250SE Cab. I had here recently both had that feature. I can't say if the V8 tack is different than a 6 cylinder one but there is a part number on the dial face so it could be compared.

I am missing the resistor that  sits on the inner fender of the 3.5 coupes We have the electric tach but the we can't find the resistor that connects to the coil and the distributor. This resistor can be re built if we knew what the resistance was if it was a ceramic or wound coil. Does any body have that spec ?
Thanks
