Saw this listing for a 230SL 5 Speed, looks very nice, worthy of listing to the Group.

These posts are supposed to go in the commercial group...

From the ad: "The carpeted trunk presents as being strongly clean per the photos."
Got a chuckle out of the 'strongly clean'.
It is a nice looking car for sure.

I see that it has the 4.08 rear end. Was that typical for all 5 speeds, regardless of market? It figure it would originally have had a 3.75 since it is a Euro 230SL.

4.08 is standard on 5 speed cars. I changed mine to 3.92 and found it to be a better choice.

Thanks Dan. Good to know.

Maybe because they needed to get to the evidence of a body being previous moved in there 😱🤣

This would not have been an original 5 speed car. Look at the VIN. The 5 speed option became available in May/June of 1966 long after this car was built. There were very few 230SL's made with 5 speeds and this isn't one of them.

Says in the ad DAn that the 5 speed was retro fitted.

I don't read everything I'm not interested in.
