Hi All I am restoring my dash and door panels which are blue but I've noticed that underneath is red .
Where could i find the original specification.
Thanks in advance ☺

You will find it on the datacard (Datenkarte). In case you do not have it, you can order it from an MB dealer for about EUR 150 and upon presenting proof of ownership.
You can also check briefly recommended color combinations upholstery/paint in our Technical Manual - but this may not give you a definite answer to your question - it only shows MB recommended color combinations, if a customer wanted to order a different one, it might have been followed by a substantial prepayment, so not very often exercised. If you spot your paint color and you will see that there is no e.g. red upholstery recommended for it, chances are it is not red that you originally had. But it is not a precise indication.

An odd answer but what is the color of the upholstery on the back bottom
Of the hard top? That requires the windows to be removed to replace the strip which someone might not want to undergo if they don’t use the hard top too much.

Welcome to sl113 and congrats on your first post.
What do you mean by underneath is red? Is there another layer of upholstery material? Is the paint on the metal underneath red? Is it one layer of upholstery and there is red if you scratch off the blue?
Clarity helps. Pictures help a lot more.

Thank you for your reply i will order a data card I was just wondering if there was some where I could input the vin number and it would tell me the spec.
-
Hi dont have a hard top but that would have been a good idea
-
Thanks for your reply it looks like the dash has been sprayed over in blue which was red I would like to put it back to its original colour
I was hoping to find out by inputting the vin number somewhere .

Hello, if you search the technical manual, see top of page on the left, this will tell you everything you need to know about data cards and paint codes etc
Try using the search button, top left and the technical manual and it will almost certainly tell you everything you need to know
Quick link to paint codes below

Pawel, I think he’s commenting on the oddness/phrasing of his own answer, not yours.
And the 10 year old in me sniggered at back bottom
-
You may ask and nothing odd thanks for your input

As far as i know the only way of finding out your upholstery/carpet colours is from your data card, the codes/colours are in the technical manual
https://www.sl113.org/wiki/DataCard/UpholsteryCodes
The paint codes are here, also in the technical manual

Thanks Bob I need the data card to be translated to layman terms but I'm going in the right direction.
I would rather but the trim back in its original colour.

Data card details below

If you post a picture of your card, someone on here will help you translate it

Sorry Pawel is was my own answer that I thought was a bit odd. I am going through the whole hard top rebuild process myself just so I can replace the vinyl under my back window with with leather to match my new interior. I could not help but wonder if everyone does that when they change interior color.
-
Absolutely no problem at all!
The question was asked in such a way that I took it that the dash upholstery was investigated, not the paint. My bad.

Good idea

When reupholstering my dash panels I found the dash components sub surface to be several different colors. This has been previously discussed on the forums. Cars delivered with leather had the leather applied over whatever dash components was at the top of the bin when the interior was being assembled. In other words, MB Tex interiors had the molded vinyl in the color of the interior and the leather installer took an MB Tex component and wrapped it with the leather.

Hi thanks for your reply
I have leather interior in blue white I'd quite nice for a 230 I love to 230 especially the engine as it's quite revvey lol but getting back to my dash I noticed it's red underneath the blue so I'm trying to find out what colour it was originally .
I'm going to try the main agent
