Title: Correct Dash Upholstery Screws
Post by: Mpgeslak on October 24, 2021, 14:55:42
Hi All,

I am putting the interior back in my 250SL and am not sure what screws and or washers to use to attach the upholstered pieces to the top and bottom of the dash.  The upholstered pieces I am talking about are the ones in the center and the passenger side that form the top and bottom of the dash and the screws all attach from the undersides of the pieces.

Do I use oval head screws with countersink washers?   What are the correct sizes to use and are they all the same?

Thanks for the assistance!

Michael

Authentic classics has a full list of what goes where along with pictures. It’s the first thing that appears under interior.

Thanks John and Gary.

Am I right to assume the “Underdash Pads” are the covered pieces that attach to the bottom of the dash and the “Dash Pad to Instrument Panel” are the pieces that attach to the top of the dash?

If that’s the case it looks like the top pieces don’t use any washers and the bottom pieces use washers, is this correct?

Yes the heavy washers go on the bottom only.
