Title: Headlight buckets

Hi All
I'm just about to put new headlight buckets into new front fenders on my '64 230SL.   Does any knowledgeable member know how this was done on the 230 SL line in the 60's.  Looks like they were put in from the inside, but how were they welded?   Thanks.

Not one of the “knowledgeable” members, but at minimum I can tell you that the factory headlight buckets went in from the inside and were spot welded to the lip of the fender. The spot welds are about 1cm apart from other.
