Title: Two Pagodas Off Road
Post by: MikeSimon on June 27, 2021, 23:58:59
Two nice 280SLs about ΒΌ mile North of Steam Corners Rd, West of Lexington, Ohio. One chasing the other down a long stretch before they both went a gravel road to park in the grass.... 8) ;D

What a fun day.  That Blue car was Alan George's 69 280SL driven by none other than Joe Alexander.  He swears he'll get me next time.  Lol.

Thanks Mike Simon.

I don't usually expect to see any Pagodas at that event, but you guys bringing the two 280s was additional icing on the cake for me this year.
Thanks, Mike, Alan and Joe!

It was good to meet you finally Mike! Be sure to visit if you make it to Backlick. I think our local Mercedes Club may incorporate this Mid-Ohio Race Coarse Grand Prix into their event schedule next year.  Hopefully with even more Pagodas!

Great to see the Pagodas at Mid-Ohio. I had my Pagoda there 2006. Do they still hold the car show as part of the vintage weekend?

Jon,

Yup. although there weren't many classics there this year.  It was a hoot though.

Saturday featured British cars and Sunday was "Concours d'Elegance" for all makes. It all depends what your definition of "Classic/Vintage" is, but there were quite a few 197/1980s Porsches, some Alfas and BMWs. The event is not really a "Show" destination, so participation is limited. Although the main reason to go there for me is seeing race cars in action, I consider the show display a great addition and a nice way to spend time between races.
