Title: Brake Master Cylinder and Pressure Valve for 250SL
Post by: inci on June 03, 2021, 02:38:32
Hello everyone,
I am looking for a brake master cylinder for an early 250sl 0014308901.  before vin#2970.
And, brake pressure valve 0004313512

Anyone knows the difference between 0014308901 master cylinder and 0014308801 by any chance?   Early 250SL and after Vin 2980ish.
Other than the reservoir?  is there any pressure difference on foundation brakes?

On master cylinder, from the parts umbers perspective, I see:

A 001 430 89 01 (113043 master cylinder before VIN #2970) is now A 001 430 89 01 64 and is available at MB dealers, ca $550.

When you cross-reference part number in an internet store you get ATE 03.2123-0614.3 for about half of the price.

As for the brake pressure regulator, we know it is a bit more complicated, as A 000 431 36 12 (I think this is the correct part number, at least for 113043) is available and you are more than welcome to buy it at MB dealers at ca $2000. I think there are posts on this forum about re-building of this regulator.

Hello John,

With respect to the brake pressure regulator Pawel is correct (as usual) that they can be rebuilt. I had my regulator rebuilt by PMB Performance in Sandy, Utah. Very happy with their work.  Lee
