Hello--
Ordering is now OPEN for the Pagoda World Book Volume 1. We will keep this ordering open for 4-6 weeks. Upon closing, we'll have the books printed and mailed.
We will NOT be inventorying books; if you want one, you'll need to order in advance. They will not be available after the order period.

Email sent. Even though I have the individual ones in France (including the somewhat rare European version of the very first edition; if my memory serves me well, only the first issue was printed for 'rest of world' in A4 format, rather than the US 'letter' format. I had it done in Amsterdam and sent them out from there, back in (2003?).
Still will be very nice to have the first 10 together in one volume, so I am 'in'. Thanks for going through the trouble to pull this together, much appreciated.

MIchael - i am still looking for my pagoda but would consider buying this neatly bound treasure. any chance it could be hard bound even if at extra cost? not trying to add complexity, just asking if it was possible with minimum effort. thanks for this wonderful initiative.

I just wanted to ask. Will everyone ordering also get a Customs bill for the book as well. If so will the Customs charge be calculated on the higher cost of the publication of 90 Dollars, because one is not a full member?.

As for customs charges, most likely this can't be predicted or estimated, given how different the rules are around the globe.

All books going out will have a "combined" CN22 Customs Form and integral prepaid shipping label in accordance with postal regulations. I will be preparing all the shipping labels once the project is completed and all will be posted at the same time; once printed AlexD has a plan for packaging and mailing. They will be noted as "magazines" which is indeed what they are; the fact that it's ten of them together bound as one, should not matter. We cannot control what the receiving country's customs or post people do but I suspect that these will be tax and VAT free. As the labels are all prepared out of PayPal and tied to the paid invoice, we cannot alter the customs value of USD $65; it will not let us.

Hello All,
To answer a few questions all at once here regarding the Pagoda World Book.
Simply stating on this thread "I want one", " Send Me One", "Reserve Me One" or anything similar will not get you a book. You must place an order and pay the invoice in order to receive a Pagoda World Book - see first posting from Mike Salemi for ordering information.
Included in the cost of $65 USD per book for FULL MEMBERS ($90 for NON MEMBERS) is shipping, any local or customs tax will be the responsibility of the buyer, as stated by Cees we have no way of knowing every individual countries local customs taxes.
Once the order period is closed all the books will be printed and mailed at one time in one large shipment, expected to be early June 2021 provided normal business operations are in place and we are not faced with any Covid-19 issues. We will not have any excess inventory of books to purchase at a later date.
Unfortunately with the printing technology we are using to produce the book, a hard copy version will not be available at this time.

PS. I noted some confusion by some members above.
1) you order order the book by opening the attachement (PDF file) in the original post then click on the e-mail link and order your book. A invoice will then be posted to you.
2) it is US Dollars not Euros.

The good news is that MOST people know how to follow instructions. My phone which beeps with each email coming in, and with each PayPal transaction, is non stop action today. Nearly 200 orders have come in and I'm chugging my way through these now. 50 invoices have gone out. It's a process--
The bad news is some people don't know how to open an attachment here (click on it?) nor follow directions. I've received a number of inquiries with no address. A number of "familiar" names have moved and thus the address that does, on rare occasion, pop up, is old or wrong. Also we have multiple email addresses for many people...hence the simple instructions.

Listen carefully everyone...
If you cannot simply “click on” and thus download a PDF from the attachment at the bottom of the first post— you have a problem on your phone, tablet, or computer. Seriously.
PDF is a universal file format. The inability to open one severely limits you in ways that go far beyond this club.
Seek some computer assistance and get it sorted out.

I somehow managed to find, open and navigate the .pdf file, but for some reason the mailing address on my invoice is incorrect. How do I correct the mailing address? Only the town is wrong; all the other information, including zip code, is correct.

For those who have set their own address incorrectly in PayPal... that is why Michael Salemi is instructing you to mail him your mailing address. If you've set your PayPal account incorrectly, your invoice will show an incorrect delivery address.

I fear the benefits of full membership, such as the linkage tour, are perhaps not as valuable as we think they are.
And I speak as someone who can dare not touch his engine for fear of stuffing it up, but did manage to order a book, and get a confirmation...;)

For those who have set their own address incorrectly in PayPal...if you've set your PayPal account incorrectly, your invoice will show an incorrect delivery address.

As of 15:19 on 9-April, I've sent out 124 invoices.
I still have well over 100 emails to "process" into invoices.
About five have been bounced back to the sender because they neglected to give me an address. They have to resend properly and go to the back of the line. The emails that are not correct or missing information are deleted--but not without a short note to the sender before I return to the others.
For one reason or another a couple are requiring some special attention, but they'll have to wait until I'm done with the backlog.
If PayPal shows the email but with a different address than what comes in on the order, the PayPal information is updated as I enter it.

I think some people don’t read anymore that is the problem. They seam to read the first few words ... then say “I want ... I want ...“ and ignore their rest of the instructions .... what else can one think.

Once you send email to the provided address, how long does it take to receive PayPal invoice? I sent email last Friday, haven’t heard back yet.

Imagine this. You are a clerk, and you have an " in-basket" on your desk. You process orders from the top of the pile, then move on to the next. As you process orders, more orders continue to come in and, and they are placed on the bottom of the pile in your in basket. First in, first out processing.
I have an inbox just for these orders. It has requests for orders probably including yours. As of Friday morning, there were more than 200 orders to be processed in the inbox, with more arriving every hour. I do them one at a time, then go to the next one in sequence.
As of this morning, Sunday, the orders I'm beginning to process are time stamped Thursday, April 8, at 10:31pm EDT. So presuming you sent your email on Friday and it arrived, it will be processed in the next day or so. I think there are still more than 60 orders in that inbox...oh wait, another one just came in...
BTW I appreciate all the kind words sent to the team that's putting this project together.

You're experiencing the thankless job of volunteering - a job that nobody else wants to do, and if things go perfectly nobody notices. The microsecond something goes askew people starting complaining.

I think Gary is expressing what indeed often happens to those who are willing to lead or run this kind of initiatives. I am very grateful for a lot of initiatives that happened here - to people who made them happen. Including running of this club and this forum.
I am sure we all are!
If I ever ask a question in similar occasion that feels like prompting - it will be not that. I may be, e.g. worried that I did something wrong and my order did not go through processing - or similar doubt. May happen I just wrote it clumsy...

Evan, you've been taken care of. Your request for invoice came in this afternoon, and invoice was sent out.
While most people had no issue following the instructions, for some reason a number of members did. Curiously, a small number said they sent the invoice request (didn't get it here), and when I asked them to resend it, it came. With over 380 emails received and invoices sent out, and most of them paid, the process is clearly working. By having everything done in PayPal we allow "the system" to keep track of everything and also let us print out US Postage labels. Nothing can fall through the cracks this way; everything is organized and accounted for. There have been a very small number of problem cases and special attention was given to them.
There was an email blast sent out this afternoon which resulted in over FIFTY additional orders. I just cleared those up moments ago, and all invoice requests have been fulfilled. Ones that come in tonight will be sent out in the morning. We've had orders from full members, from associate members and non members. Some non-members have joined and associate members have upped their membership to full. So, it's all working the way it's supposed to.
The gist of the email blast, and our constant reminders, is that orders will be closed on April 30. If you don't order before then you likely will not be able to get a book. We've kept these posts active, We've had the ordering open for weeks now, and we've sent out email blasts. Clearly by the number of orders most are getting the message. What we are saying is you can't decide in June you want a book. The project will be over and done with at that time.

No email has been received from louie2 or your email at pagodabook@outlook.com. I've sent a direct request for that information from the Pagoda Book email account. Just reply to that.
Sigman, ditto for you until you sent it this morning. You are all taken care of.
ORDERS are still coming in. Do I really need to remind people that we're preparing invoices, and to follow, mailing information? That means we need your name. Yes, your real name. We also need your zip code or post code as appropriate. We cannot drop anything into the mail without a proper address. Without a post code/zip code, it doesn't count. For Americans, remember we've had Zip+4 since 1983. It is generally helpful to provide that...
I know from experience that a small number of addresses as provided will be rejected and we'll have to verify them in the USPS computer...
For Americans, all you have to verify your address is check it at USPS.com.
