Hello My Pagoda Friends,
This is Bob Possel. I used to be a very active member and fell by the way-side after I sold my beautiful '71 113.
I am looking for a nice 113 driver quality Pagoda. If you know of one for sale, or maybe you have considered selling yours, please let me know.
I hope that all of my old friends are doing well!
Very Kind Regards,
Bob Possel, Memphis, TN.

Hello Bob
Its nice to hear from you. Lot's of discussions here on the W113 market. Did you ever get your hands on a 190SL?
For those who do not remember Bob, he did one of the most extensively documented restorations ever presented on this site.
-
Welcome back Bob! Here's to you finding another Pagoda soon.
-
Welcome back Bob.
I have seen your old Pagoda occasionally here in Australia although not since Covid started.
Look forward to your participation in the Group again.

Hey Bob, welcome back to the group!

Hi Bob,
I am happy to read that you came back. Prodigal Son. ;D
Are you looking for a complete one or one that needs work?
-
Hi Bob,
I've added your old posts back to your new account... gives you a bit more status right away!
Welcome back, look forward to seeing your posts again!

Welcome back, Bob.
A lot has happened since you left. Mostly, prices have gone way up.
Keep your eyes and ears open.

Cars for sale appear on the fb group from time to time.

Hello Bob,

A guy here in Dallas is going to post one on Bring-A-Trailer very soon. It is a ‘71 280SL dark olive green with cognac MB Tex. I have seen it briefly but don’t know much about it.

My Friends,
Cees, Johnny, Alfred, Peter, Mike, Frank, Mike, and others,
How nice to hear from you with such a very warm welcome back!
Since I sold my 113, I bought, restored, and sold a '70 Jaguar XKE, '65 Austin Healey, '54 Jaguar XK120 DHC, and another Jaguar XKE.
I can truly say that totally taking apart the W113 and then putting her back together again was a dream vs any of the British cars.
The fit of the W113 is true engineering. The fit of the British was true pain! Nothing fit well together, it took lots of fit, refit, to get it "right".
Garry, have you really seen my Pagoda in Australia? If you have seen her again, can you please send me some pictures?
I put my heart and soul into that W113, and it would be nice to see her again.
My friends, I am looking for a nice Pagoda 230, and or 280, sorry not a 250 california. Also looking for a nice driver, one as close to OE as possible.
I am soo looking forward to rejoining the W113 team, however with a nice Pagoda.
Question, is the group still meeting once per year in Blacklick?
Kind Regards,
Bob
-
Bob,
I think this is your old Pagoda?
Garry
-
Bob,
PUB in Blacklick has been mostly retired. The last event was PagodaFest San Diego 2019. We had hoped to have another PagodaFest in the US in 2021, but the Pandemic squelched that.
The US event - PagodaFest is now tentatively planned for 2022, location TBD.
A two year cycle, with Europe on the alternating years.
There will be plenty of warning about the next US event.

Bob,
I think this is your old Pagoda?

I believe Bob's car had a red interior.
-
Bob's had a red interior and was painted in 670 light ivory. I remember riding in it at Joe Alexanders place in 2009. The car was a featured cover story in "The Star".
The car was once sold through Motoring Investments. Check http://historic.motoringinvestments.com/MainPage.htm Click "Home (inventory list), select Mercedes, then scroll down until you see the attached photo. That was Bob's car.

Any particular color combo?
Any W113? Or has to be a 280SL for example?
Auto or stick shift?
What's your budget?
Some good deals, as well as insane prices on Bringatrailer.com
Hemmings, Ebay, lots to choose from.
-
Nice to meet you Bob here's a link to a bringatrailer
https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1968-mercedes-benz-280sl-23/
hope you find your baby :)

Check today's Hemmings Daily. There is a 69 280 SL automatic offered at $39,000 with a note that the price is negotiable. I'm not connected to the sale in any way and don't know anything about the car, but since you're looking the price certainly seems right.

I have a pair here. One is a 1970 US-spec car, auto, no AC, papyrus white with black interior. Still under restoration right now but is a running car. The other car is a 250SL, dark blue with a blue interior and soft top. Both are under restoration right now.
