This weekend the autumn weather was perfect. We drove the Pagoda to Ridgeland, Mississippi for the 12th Annual Euro Fest Car Show. See here:
http://www.euro-fest.net/ridgeland/index.php
The trip over was all by interstate. On Friday afternoon we participated in a caravan with other early arrivals to nearby Livingston, MS for a "get to know you" session and later collected our credentials for the Saturday show.
On Saturday the cars were positioned throughout the Colony Park Shopping Complex in Ridgeland. Cars were grouped by Mark on the plazas and sidewalks adjacent to shops. A car corral was also set up by Mark in an open area for cars less than 25 years old. These cars were not judged.
In addition to my 280SL, Don Bepristis (dbepristis@outlook.com on the forum) brought his 230SL from Florida. The Jackson, MS Mercedes Benz Dealer also displayed a 280SL. A few pictures are attached.
For the trip home on Sunday we entered the Nachez Trace Parkway at Ridgeland and traveled 120 miles north before taking to normal highways again. The Trace has zero trucks and on Sunday morning almost no cars. Cruising for two hours on this beautiful two lane road at 60mph (3200rpm) was a real pleasure. Altogether 585 miles for the weekend.

Ralph
Very nice. That setting for the event looks great. That’s a wonderful (and nice long) drive - I drove the Natchez Trace earlier this year (not in a Pagoda) with my son when we happen to be in Nashville.

Thanks Oz, I thought the layout of the event and the location and organization were great. Here is a link to an article in the local Jackson newspaper about the event:

I was fortunate in that my car received the best of class award. The “German Open” class covers all German cars that are roadsters, convertibles or cars with removable hard tops such as our Pagodas.

Weather permitting, I am driving part of the Trace on Thursday, April 8.
The Annual Natchez Euro-Fest event is being held in Natchez on April 9-10 (www.euro-fest.net). I have entered my 113. In case of rain, the event will be held the following weekend.
Driving from Birmingham, I plan to enter the Trace near Starkville, MS and drive to Natchez returning on Sunday, April 11.
Check out the event site, you may want to drive down!

Natchez event postponed one week due to expected heavy weather. Now April 16 - 17.
