Regular readers will know that there's a central post inside the T51 brake servo. It is made of Bakelite and is nearly always found to be broken upon disassembly and when it is it effectively renders the servo as scrap.
RHD servos are different to LHD and so your chances of finding a useable RHD one are next to none.
We have now successfully developed a replacement component and so are able to offer servo re-builds even when this component is failed.
Prices start from £300 plus shipping and VAT (exchange). If you need this component or if you want powder coating then obviously the price will increase significantly but at least there's now a solution for RHD servos where there wasn't one before.
The caveat is that some later servos have a different Bakelite post which we cannot replace (at this time) but we will still be able to offer you an outright purchase in that case (rather than exchange).

Hi,
I believe that 3D-Printing can help to manufacture these Bakelit parts or a small company near my place who manufatures new Bakelit parts for vintage cars: https://roland-merz-katalog.de/mercedes-benz-ersatzteile?p=1.
Maybe we should ask them for this special brake booster part.

I would buy it just to have at hand.

Bakelite comes in powder form and is hotmoulded into any shape at very low pressure. It was at the time very versatile. I wonder if the 3D printing is using other material alternatives that could rather not sustain the function of the servo booster.
I am planning to dissassemble mine once my excitement to drive around with the car calms down....

I think you've missed my point. I have had them modelled, printed and machine finished.

Colin,
Please, do I understand this correctly? Are these parts usable for the LHD brake booster as well?
Thanks a lot for a short feedback.
Best,
Achim

I'm looking to start a production run in about 6 weeks time.
The part is not going to be cheap at £395.00 plus taxes and shipping. I'd love it to be cheaper but believe me, I have tried to get the cost down but with such a small demand it just isn't possible to make enough of them to get the price down.
-
Thanks stick, expensive yes I get it, but the cost for now will push me to look at other options for now.
thanks again and I may be back in the end anyway !!

@ Stick,
I am faced with the same problem. My local rebuilder told me that the plastic piece is broken and the he has no substitute at the moment.
He is sending me the broken part for evaluation. Let me know when the part you are making is available. What material are you using for the remanufacturing?
Thanks
