There are 2 square holes on the 250SE/cp firewall.... What is supposed to be there??

I thought I knew but just checked to be sure. Those are the mounting holes for the throttle rod bracket as it goes across the firewall. Since you drive on the wrong side ( ;D), not sure you use these and might have square rubber plugs in place of that. I do not have an unused pair of square holes on mine, but the firewall pad would cover them up.
