Title: SLK32

So after 5 years, we decided the SLK32 needed a new home. Lack of use and Ms Box (wife) preferring to drive the Boxster...

Once lockdown here started I stuck it on a car auction site and it sold for more than I paid for it ;) Not a lot more and obviously Mr Ferns did OK out of it along the way but not a terrible result

Today the "Mercedes Benz Classic" magazine arrived in the post and on page 88 "Classics of the future" is the R170SLK - the rare SLK32 version "is worth collecting" ::)

I have had a red one since new. Still doing good after 19 years except for some bio-degradable German plastic parts which like to bio-degrade before their time.

James

You can't win.  I could fill a shed with cars I wished that I had never sold - Peugeot 205 GTI, Golf GTI, M-B E320 coupe, Boxster and M-B CL500.  All bought new, cherished, never raced or rallied and sold for one stupid reason or another.

My current strategy is to keep them all but with four cars littering the property in Edinburgh and covering about 25 miles in aggregate each week, I fear that the tide is coming in on my strategy.

Regards
Andrew

I cannot make myself buying a "new" or "modern" Mercedes. Both quality of the cars and the personal service in the dealerships is not as it used to be when I first owned my Pagoda.
I "stumbled" upon the Audi brand when specifying a company car and I have been a fan ever since. The vehicles are exceptionally as far as design and performance is concerned and the treatment I am getting from my local dealer is next to none. Last year, I was contemplating a Porsche Macan as a replacement for my Audi and after a lot of back and forth, I ended up with an Audi again.
