They would need a built in sound track to have the beautiful exhaust note that every owner loves.

Sorry, everyone. I didn't find the earlier post about this topic. Wouldn't have posted if I had seen that one.

In the "Motor" circles I am socializing in, I am known as a die-hard opponent of electric vehicles. Some of it is based on the last years of my life on the job, when my company worked on an alternative air-conditioning system and we were dealing with driving ranges of electric vehicles under extreme climate conditions.
Fortunately, I am old enough to not have to change my opinion and consider buying/driving an EV. 8)

A decent video here on a UK comapny doing EV conversions. Keep with it ...

The conversion kits are currently the same sort of cost as a small modern EV with similar range. I am not sure that many higher value “classic” owners would be “early adopters” of this stuff, particularly as here at least there is a recognition that mileages are low and they are used on high days and holidays so bypass emissions taxes etc. Oddly, I can see more adoption of more interesting  (analog) “young-timers” - such as the mx5, that are being squeezed by emissions, are still useable as dailies and not “super” valuable. Think w201/124/107, E9BMW, TVR, etc
