Title: Euro Headlight Assembly bracket question
Post by: cospinner on June 02, 2020, 18:25:12
I have a hopefully simple question.  When I was replacing my headlight bulbs recently on my 1970 Euro 280SL, I noticed that I was missed a couple of the 4 screws/side that are used to fasten it to the body.

According to the tech manual:
"The Assembly is held to the car by four Phillips head screws located around the edge of the housing. These are flat head screws grey in color. Do not confuse these four mounting screws with the two round head copper colored screws used to adjust the position of the main bulb."

Does anybody know what size these screws are, so that I can track down some replacements?

Thanks.

The replacements are available at Authentic Classics. It is an M4 screw, however:
- it has smaller than standard head to fit and not scratch the glass
- it has a cone on its tip to fit it easily into its hole

Pawel, thanks for your quick reply.  I will get with Authenticate Classics soon, but right now their website is down for maintenance and inventory until June 4.
