Title: Burgundy or not ...
Post by: Stephane 66SL230 on May 21, 2020, 12:42:13
Hi everybody,
I'm living in France - Europa
this is my second one Pagoda. The first one I sold fifteen years ago was a first hand, she was white with red interior. I bought this one 3 years ago in US. At first, I wanted to change all the floors but in fact, she needs more work, and today, she's nacked ...

The original color is burgundy (573 G) with black interior and grey carpets, but she was painted in ivory many years ago.

Can anybody here send me photos from a burgundy one ? For my part, I prefer the ivory color but I'm asking myself if it's a good idea to paint it back in its original color... let me know what do you think about it ...https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ah05Vp056I0chTxW5L3wRp3292mjVm1K (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1ah05Vp056I0chTxW5L3wRp3292mjVm1K) https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AabC-ZjC4zpYWlexF1aE32M1rgOHvwlP (https://drive.google.com/open?id=1AabC-ZjC4zpYWlexF1aE32M1rgOHvwlP)
stay safe ;)

All depends on your desire to keep the car for a long time or to sell it shortly.
If selling it, its probably best to repaint the original colors, if you plan to keep, then paint it your color you want.
Burgundy goes well with the wine country you live in.

I think choosing a more modern color from the original palate that you like would not impact the value over an original color that hasn’t aged well provided done right.

thanks to you ... Bordeaux is not so close to me ... I'm living in Calvados department... we have also a nice brandy ...
Here in Normandy we are saying 'ptet ben qu'oui, ptet ben qu'non' it means exactly what you wrote ... I'm irresolute ... I've got some weeks to make me an idea but I never saw a burgundy one, I cannot have a certain opinion today ...

573G is one of the best colors!  Of course this is my opinion.   And it seems your dash might still be original color?

I am currently removing ivory on one of my cars and taking it back to original 728 beige gray metallic.

I think many many cars were painted ivory as it was so “a la mode” some 40 years ago.

Nice car Kampala, yes, sure, some color are "a la mode" today and tomorrow ?.... that's was the same with the "now" Classic 911, their signal green, yellow, orange color are now "a la mode" but, 20 years we hate them ...
My Pagoda is always under work, I have some weeks to change my mind ... thanks to you

Burgundy and Dark Red are truly beautiful colours - yes, I’m biased.

Here is my Dark Red car with it’s correct, Bamboo MB Tex interior
