Hi
My w111 250se coupe ('65) is blowing hot air in the cabin. The valves in the picture I don't think have been put back correctly. I rotate the valve 90 deg at a time and 2 settings are very hot but 2 settings are still pumping warm air through. Any idea how to make the warm air ambient temperature??
Thanks for any help!

Col,
Note that there is always a small flow of hot water through the valves so it might be right.
Regards

I have a 69 280SE and always had some hot air on my feet until I cleaned and lubed the cables so that that they fully closed. I used to have to reach down and close the valve completely but now that the cables move 100% works much better. I used the Technical manual for the Pagoda controls as a guide.

I found these 2 write-ups that are for the 190SL but I think it's all similar.
Also this link is really good from another forum. https://www.benzworld.org/threads/w111-1965-220sb-heat-exchanger-hose-heater-valves-n900271015009.2964866/
I pulled mine apart and with the cables adjusted properly I think I should be able to fully turn them off (past the slit). Here is a photo of the insert if anyone is interested. The slit is on both sides, I assume so that the left and right are interchangeable.
