Title: Correct Battery Size for W111 3.5
Post by: JPMOSE on February 21, 2020, 20:16:45
Hello… I am trying to find the correct battery size for my car. I suspect the one that’s in there is a little small based on the tray. The current one is 13 inches length, yet, it appears that it could fit a 15 inch length. I’ve done several searches and come up with different sizes so I’m befuddled. It should be noted that the interstate battery in my car is 14 years old and still working! However, I don’t want to press my luck!!! I feel like I’m holding the worlds record! LOL

Below is a battery size list if you haven't already seen one. They are not always exact, but should get you pretty close.

And then you also need to pay attention to the location of the positive and negative terminal. I hope that helps some and good luck.

For the record, Group 49 or H8 is the correct one for the V8 engine.  I have to admit it was hard to turn in my Interstate battery that was 14 years old!  Batteries Plus was shocked when they tested it and still held a full charge!  I went with a Duracell Ultra because it was all black, which I felt appeared better than some bright colored unit (which unfortunately the Interstate was).  I’ve had a Duracell in my 250SL and it has performed well ( now at 5 years).

Good to hear! I would like to use Interstate as well, but I agree their coloring is too much for me. I used a Bosch from Pep Boys and it is perfectly plain and black.
