Title: Fuel Injection Pump Dip Stick
Post by: Klaus Pieper on December 03, 2019, 13:00:34
Hallo,

I have a 1966 230 SL with fuel injection pump PES 6 KL 70/120 R11 which is the correct fuel injection pump for this model.  I can however not find the dip stick on this fip.

Although I have used the search function and the technical manual, I can not find a photo showing the position of the dip stick nor an accurate description where to find it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Klaus

Hi Klaus,
The old type injection pumps have a closed system as you said( it does not use oil from the engine) The dipstick is at the back of the pump, closest to the firewall. It has a tiny T handle which screws out. Follow my arrow.

Chris, Joe and Paul, thank you so much for the quick response - it has been very helpful and I will now check the oil level as suggested with the cable tie.

Klaus
