Title: Bracket used to secure Oil Press line to brake booster

On my early 230SL, the bracket that secures the oil pressure line to the brake booster has been missing since I've owned the car. Bud's Benz was able to find one for me (photo attached) but now I'm wondering whether the bracket should be painted or anodized.  Does anyone have a picture of the oil line showing the correct finish for the bracket? thanks in advance, Charles

I know Eastwood have a product "Eastwood Golden CAD Complete Kit Item #16160Z"
and some other stuff in their range - other vendors may have similar products on offer

for only one part I would try the two batteries, vinegar and epson salt alternative that you can find in many u-tube how to videos.

I decided to try and zinc-plate the bracket. I had planned to color it with a yellow chromate but the smallest measure of yellow chromate I can find is a 4 oz. bottle from Caswell - enough for 4 gallons (!).  So I'll just plate it and polish it - likely won't even be noticeable once installed.

I zinc-plated the bracket today,,it was a lot easier than I anticipated. The bracket polished up real nice and I installed it along with a NOS Oil Pressure Hose I found on eBay..

so what did you end up using to zink plate it with? Were you able to get it to work with just batteries white vinegar and epson salts?

John, I used an AC adapter set to 3 VDC at approx 300 mA. Found some zinc strips on eBay and soldered four of them together as anodes (the anodes are depleted in photo below). Mixed white vinegar, Epson salt, and a bit of Kayo syrup in one of my wife's Tupperware bowls (won't do that again). Definitely a crude contraption- but it worked just fine.
