I am restoring 280SL engine and after dismantling all components have some issues.
Need advise. Injector pump stuck plunger which is feeding nozzle of the 4th cylinder and rack does not move – also stuck. Maybe somebody knows trusted repair company for compete overhaul or spare part supplier. The best location in Europa.

Use the search function, lots of tips here on how to free stuck pistons, notably from Joe Alexander ('JA17'). Should be do-able yourself. Don't tinker with the pump too much!

Hello, I’m thinking about overhauling the injection pump of my 250sl too. I have read many names about workshops around the world , including for example tower bridge diesels . I would like to know which one is the best and most reliable in terms of precision and completing the job in the right time .

If cosmetic refurbishment is also something you wish to have done, be sure to ask the service provider since I know in the US, some of the very capable pump rebuilders do not wish to get involved in the cosmetics with replating and such.

The mechanic that is restoring my 280SL cleared / rebuilt my injector as well as rebuilt my fuel pump, and rebuilt the engine too - he really knows what he is doing. My engine runs beautifully now, smooth as silk. He is in the Los Angeles area. PM me if you want his contact information.

use seafoam. put it everywhere and turn the pump using any kind of drill attachment. it will free up eventually. soak it over night etc. WD40, seapfoam.

Hei Hans Fritzsche www.Oldtimer-technik.eu had refurbished the injection pump of my 230SL and it runs great with absolutely clean emissions. Keep in mind that most of our cars run great if they have a rich mixture. Hans pumps are well adjusted and if all other parts of the injection system are alright you can lean the mixture to the factory standard and the car runs healthy, you have clean spark plugs and low fuel consumption. Besides some other improvements, my 230SL has proved 159HP and 210Nm on the dyno. Do not hesitate to send the pump to Hans. Talk soon, take care, Martin
