Dan I have enough trouble confusing the locals without attracting the local law enforcement to us.

Garry,

I know you will not do what I did in 1981 when I was 3 months in Whyalla South Australia on a project at BHP’s steel plant. In the 2nd week I was there I turned right coming out from the gas station against oncoming traffic, upsetting quite a few drivers. Also one day in my first week I got into my rented car on the left hand side, I noticed some people starring at me so I quickly opened the glove box pretending I was looking for something. Then I got out and entered the car on the right hand side after all that’s were the steering wheel was. :)

Safe travels always, cheers,

Dieter

I've driven RHD cars before and I was always going to the wrong side to drive. Two things I found difficult: passing big trucks and backing up out of my shop. I found it difficult to recon where my left rear tire was from what would normally be the passenger seat.

The first time I drive my RHD MGB after a being in storage all winter I find myself depressing the clutch and shifting the window crank from 1st to 2nd...
