Title: 2002 BMW

I'm wanting to purchase a BMW 2002.  Prefer early round tail lights or later.  If you know of one or perhaps have one for sale, please let me know.  My max is $35K

There are several on BaT most of the time. Do not buy a Turbo. The higher performance (that you may not be able to use) does not outweigh the problems with this version.
I owned a performance tuned TI, a TII for a short time and a Turbo together with the TI. The exhaust header on the Turbo disintegrated and fell off 3 times during the 2 years I owned the car. My favorite was the TI with 45 Webers instead of the stock 40 Solex, vented disc brakes in the front and flared fenders with 7" ATS wheels. The car had a Schnitzer-prepped head and made 160hp, only 10 short of the nominal 170 of the Turbo. But it had a so much better driveability with no Turbo lag out of lower RPMs. The 02 was one of my favorite cars I owned

Update

Nothing yet.  I had two that almost met the criteria, one looked great on top and not so good on the bottom.  I had a pre purchase inspection performed.  Lots of zip ties and suspension springs just dangling.

The other car was awesome but there was already a deposit on it.

Just so you know: Converting an 02 from rectangular to round taillights and vice-versa is relatively easy. The different body cutout is only in the outer skin of the rear panel. The rear fenders which hold the very outside shape of the taillight are the same.
Provided you can source all the parts, the rear panel is a non-structural item and can be brazed in very easily.
I converted my TI from round to square taillights when someone rear-ended me and I had to replace the panel.
It may be worth the effort if you insist on the look of the round lights.

Thanks for info, good to know.  I'm still learning about these cars.  I've joined the BMWCCA and hope to make it to their Octoberfest.  I have consulted with Gernold on a few cars and now  he is helping me  look for a decent example.  My main concern is rust.

If anyone comes across a good example (don't really want a project) unless it has great potential please let me know.
