Title: Fuel injection system for M130

Hi every body! 
I found that the adjustment section in  my mechanical injection pump is full of oil, ( in other words : the flyweights are rotating inside the oil) is that normal ?
Please advice!!!

You will see - earlier FIPs had own oil supply, later ones were using engine oil. Important is oil/fuel separation in governer section vs. pump section (where the levers and cams/flyweights are vs. where the pistons are).

I had a similar problem with the injector pump on my 67 250 SL which has a separate oil reservoir.  It got so bad that oil was being blown out of the IP vent.  The extra oil in the IP caused the weights spinning inside the pump to slow down causing a very over rich condition which would cause the car to stall if left at idle for very long.  The guys on the forum gave me several ideas about what caused the extra oil in the IP including a failure of the seal between the engine oil and the IP causing oil from the engine to seep into the IP from the engine.  I took the IP out and sent it to Jerry Fairchild Industries in California where it is currently undergoing a rebuild.  Unfortunately the fix is not cheap as the rebuild will be around $800 and the mechanics work about the same.  Good luck!

Only the M127 and M129 engines have the IP with separate oil supply and a dip stick to check the level. The latter injection pumps on the M130 engine had engine oil circulate through them. The oil level in the IP of these later pumps stayed constant.  Any excess would flow back into the engine. I believe that the R18 IP was the last version used with the self contained oil supply and dip stick for oil level.

There is no seal between the pump section and the governor.  The oil level in an engine fed pump is about 3/4" above the mainshaft center line.  You might have to download this and blow it up to see it but if you look at the left end of the shaft you will see an open bearing and if you look at the govenor housing you will see no seal.  The oil level is regulated by the height of the drain hole in the front cover in the lower left corner of the picture.  See the 5th hole that has an odd placement?  picture the 2 holes on either side of it being level across the top of the shaft.  oil will drain from the pump at about 1/2" (13mm) above the top of the shaft.
