Title: Where do These Grommets Go Exactly?
Post by: Pawel66 on February 18, 2018, 00:07:43
In the Automatic Transmission parts drawing  we can find these grommets.

Do you know where they go exactly? 2 pieces each are needed for a car.

I can figure out the bigger one goes between the line and a clamp in 2 places, but I am having problems figuring out where the smaller goes and how to install it. The bigge one is cut. The smaller one is not - it is a small pipe. I would have no idea how to slide it on any of the thin lines (it has a dimeter like a fuel injection line or the vacuum transmission line) as they have banjo connectors at the ends. The smaller ones also should go between a line and a clamp (intuitively), but I would not know how to place them without cutting.

Do you just cut it along?

The smaller one should go on the vacuum line from the intake manifold, there is a bracket holding it down 10-15 cm from the manifold.

Radu, thank you! So you need to cut it as it will not go through the banjo connector on the vacuum line...

Probably, maybe when they made these pipes the first time they mounted the grommet before they crimped the connectors.

Ok, thank you.
