Title: W111 250SE Cylinder head on 230 SL ?

Hi guys,

I am thinking of fitting a 250 SE cylinder head onto a 230 SL.  The cylinder head comes from a W111 Coupe with the engine no. 129 981 22 000040. The head no starts with 129 016 0 as far as I can see.

Would that work?

Welcome Benjamin - I recall discussions about this recently; suggest you try the search function, but off the top of my head this would not be possible.

But it is very possible. Same head gasket set used on either engine and the part number for a 230SL head set starts with 129 if that's any indication.
