Title: Accessing the vehicle register
Post by: Mike H on June 22, 2017, 11:28:19
Hi,
Somehow I found the vehicle register the other night, and now, after searching all headings, I can't.
I'd like to add my stats as well. Help please.

I wonder if there's any way to make that a sortable/searchable list. So, for example, it could be sorted by build number, or colour or member name

Hi James,

It is sortable, just click on any of the headings and it will sort the spreadsheet for you.

Some sorts do not provide meaningful results as some registrants have apparently withheld data, including complete VIN numbers and engine numbers.

In the VIN field the last 6  characters are reserved for the chassis number. There are a few VIN entries with a field of seven characters with an extra leading zero ---possibly a data entry typo-- that seem to put these entries out of sequence.

Overall, the Registry is a very useful feature of our Technical Manual.  Registration by all with complete information will further improve it.

Maybe a bit off topic but yesterday I was trying to find my engine number and couldn't for the life of me read it, flashlight in the dark included. I finally found a use for my iPhone camera: I was able to hold it down by the engine and get a clear shot of the engine stamping.
