Title: 220se no reverse ?

Hi all a friends 220se auto gearbox just stop working in reverse but has all the forward gears 2,3,4d ,N ,park any ideas thanks ,the fitter  and fluid was changed  2 thousand miles ago  :o

Most common fault is the pin for the pivot for the reverse band sheers off.
You need to remove the pan then the pin can be removed from the bottom of the main housing.

Often times the reverse band adjustment lock nut comes loose allowing the band adjustment to back off.  If this is the case, turn the 10mm reverse band in until snug, then back it off about 1 3/4 turns. Lock the adjustment with the 22mm nut. All is accessible from below. Don't forget to check the fluid level also!
