Title: Delete icons
Post by: Montreal V8 on January 17, 2017, 19:29:59
My last two posts now have "Delete" icons attached. I'm not sure why, and should like to know what correct etiquette or action is required of me.    Thanks,  Dale.

Hi Dale,

I am not sure what you are seeing.  I have looked at your recent postings and they all look fine to me with out any “Delete” icon.  Can you do a screen print/copy and post as an example?

Dale, I also checked your last to posts, I cannot see any extra icons.

Let us have a screen shot of the area so we can help you.

Dieter

PS. If you need help to make a screen shot of the area Google this for step by step instructions "how to make a screen shot"

The author of a post gets a 'delete' icon (actually it's called 'remove') in that post. This in the event he or she would like to delete it, others can't see the icon because it's not relevant to them as non-authors. There's also a 'modify' icon on your posts that others cannot see.

Ah ha of course as an admin, I see every post with all the icons such as
Reply
Quote
Modify
Remove
Split Topic
 as well as
MOVE TOPIC
REMOVE TOPIC
LOCK TOPIC
SET TOPIC STICKY
MERGE TOPICS
so it appeared as nothing unusual to me.

Dale, as Cees has said, it is on your posts so that you can delete/remove or modify them if you wish at any time.

Many thanks for the clarification on this subject. I was a little apprehensive that I had somehow offended someone, so was relieved that was not the case. Garry and Dieter, sorry for not replying directly, but it is gratifying to know people take the time to help.  As I've commented before, this Forum is truly a "must" for all Pagoda owners.    Cheers, Dale.
