I purchased this white '68 RHD 280sl a few weeks back in Edinburgh.
Needs lots of work! Have it currently with Colin Ferns [Richmond]. Almost ready for an MOT.
Will update as I go along and would welcome any support you can provide me with.
Cheers.
John.

Great find - I am sure you are chuffed. Is that the handbrake on the drivers side? - love to know how that's done if it is.

Looks like a great starting point.

Hey John,
nice looking car
George
well spotted!
I have seen pictures previously of the brake handle being relocated.
I think it is just a matter of relocating the cables underneath the car.
Only needed on RHD cars.

Hello John
Your 280SL looks quite tidy, so I'm wondering why you describe it as a 'barn find'. Was it out of service for many years? I'm intrigued by the re-located handbrake. Obviously, someone once cared a lot for your car. My '68 280SL auto (Tunis Beige Metallic/Dark Brown Interior & soft top) is an early one, having left the factory on 6 January 1968. It started its life in York, before emigrating to Australia sometime in the 1970's. I hope your ownership experience is as pleasant as mine has been.
Cheers
