Title: replacing rubber headlight seals on W108.057

Hi, I have bought a nice example of the above model, the original rubber seals for the headlights have shrunk drastically and need replacing.  I know I can buy new ones but can't really justify the cost of them plus shipping for this model.  I see that several well known suppliers offer strips of what looks like closed cell foam to replace the original formed rubber seals.  Has any one used these and if so what are the dimensions of the foam strip plse?
