Title: sorry for all of my questions at PUB
Post by: rmmchl on September 15, 2015, 16:59:55
What a great weekend. I'm sorry for all the questions to Dan, Joe, and Alfred, Michael Salemi, They are a wealth of knowledge, and I'm like a sponge soaking up this knowledge. Next time I need to "smell the roses more". I know Alfred was probably getting tired of all my inquires about his 230sl. I wish I could have stuck around to watch him adjust the door glass. Maybe someone should check on him. He might still be there with that daunting task. I have been at it for 30 years , and still can't get one of my windows correct.

That's why we were there; to learn and ask questions.  :)

The two sliding blocks have set screws that have to be adjusted to remove any play between the block and the rail inside the door. If they're not tight enough, you will get rattles in the door and the glass will never stay tight to to window seals. The rails have small holes in them so you can fit a straight bladed screw driver into the adjustment screw. Roll your window up or down until the head of the screw aligns with the hole and turn in or out until there is no play and the window will still roll up or down without binding.
The screw pushes against a small plastic clip that fits over the edge of the rail. All pieces have to be there for it to work right.

I believe that after a week or two when all of us attending PUB 2015 starts to tinker with our cars based on all valuable information we got there, even more questions will arise  ;). But then, we have this fantastic forum to continue post our questions on - and get the solid answers from  :D.
