Title: Deutsche Classic Award
Post by: 280SE Guy on July 15, 2015, 16:19:51
I took Anthracite to the annual Deutsche Classic car show last Saturday the 11th and came away with another award. This is a new award for the show as I don't remember them having this before. With probably 300 or so German made cars in the show it's a great local event.

Here is a picture of the engine cooling down before she gets put back in the garage for another day.

Here is a video that was put together by a friend from New Jersey who also has a 280SEL: https://vimeo.com/133402797 (https://vimeo.com/133402797)

It was a great day for both of us.

Once again congratulations a well deserved award for your great looking car!

Is this car show herald every year at Oley, Pennsylvania, or at different locations?

Your engine looks spotless, must have taken endless hours to get her into this shape,

Thanks for sharing the photos and the video!!!

Thanks Rolf. The event is in its 11th year. It has always been held within a 20 mile radius of its current location. Oley, PA is the 3rd location as the event has grown over the years with an increased number of cars being shown and therefor a need for a larger venue. It has always been held the second Saturaday in July. There is a trophy for the car that travels the furthest distance, this year it was given to a car from Colorado. Atendees are typicaly from PA, NJ, DE, MD, MA, CT, NC. See the Deutsche Classic web site for more information http://www.DeutscheClassic.com/ (http://www.DeutscheClassic.com/)

Thanks for the info Bob and the link. I see you took away prizes in the previous years as well :)

I'll try to make it next year it will be an 8 hour drive, however, from the photos (from the Gallery of past years events), it looks like a great event and well worth the drive. Besides I love those Philadelphia pancakes ;) I marked my calendar for July 2016, i like the idea the organizers have in preparing the unique prizes what a great way to display some old car parts!
