We had a nice spring collection of photos, why not add a photo or two of your summer shots :)
I was at a 30 Year aneversary MB Canada car show today near Kitchener (formerly named Berlin and changed for obvious reasons). The area has a great deal of former Germans living there they mostly arrived long before the second WW. The car show was near a little town named Hidelberg, Ontario Canada. It was a great event, we had roasted pig and potato salad and vegetables for lunch followed by evenly decided pieces of cake (I managed to shoot a photo before the cake was divided). A great time was had by all we had nice music and great Gemudlichkeit :) I
I managed to take a few photos (only part of the rear of mine - full frontal to follow next weekend when I go for a ride again). I took a photo of one of the judges he came in his 280SL, I never had a chance to meet him he was so busy judging cars. I did not enter mine for judging since this club awarded me first spot in 2013. Notice I put my hardtop on last week, somehow I like the look of it more then topless ... Tat kinda sounds funny.
Anyway, take your smartphone or camera along next time you go for a spin and share a photo with us .... As said my full car frontal will follow :)

Here's my very special summer picture! ;)

Love the pictures hauser! Looks like a major motor job being done first class, can I ask how much will it cost you or have you been working on this project yourself?
-
Gernold is doing all of it. Some items are in house while others go to specialty companies. The engine was rebuilt by Metric in California.
As for cost, let's just say I don't want my wife to know. :o
-
Engine looks great hauser. Just remember the old joke that in the unforeseen event of your demise, have a friend make sure your wife doesnt sell it for what you said it cost to restore :o :D

Sandwich !

Fan belt looks a bit loose... ;D
-
Yes the fan belt does look loose. ;) I'll have to bring that to Gernold's attention. ;D
Gary, Stacey knows a lot more about my doings than I think she does. She definitely keeps a very close eye on my expenditures. Of course what she may not know my son Christian does as I have sworn him to secrecy.

I drove my 250SL to the Intermarque Picnic held at a park in St. Paul, MN last Sunday... the 'Intermarque' organization here in town is a club of clubs... it encompasses all the foreign car clubs and we do activities together. These picnics happen once a month in the Summer. The July event was hosted by the Mercedes-Benz Club | Twin Cities Section. A couple of pagodas showed up, some newer SLs, a Maserati Indy, a handful of MGs and Triumphs, a Citroen 2CV and a very vintage Ford Anglia among others.

In Åland last week...

Hauser,
I see the two top mounts at the back of your transmission haven't be shortened. As they are they interfere with the Tunnel. Was the tunnel "massaged" for more clearance? If not your trans may seat too low at the back. If so, it may translate into shaft/flex-disc misalignment which would induce vibrations on the highway. Did you ever experience cyclic vibrations through the seat at some specified speeds on the highway? If so you may look into it.

Driven with the pagoda along the Mosel.
New Mosel Bridge, currently the largest bridge building in Europe. Near Bernkastel.

We are updating the Getrag with new mounting / adapter parts. Yes there was a vibration and the driveshaft needed to be rectified and balanced. As far as the flex disk it showed no signs of trouble.
The original layout and adapter of the transmission and this is according to Alex Dearborn was a collaboration with AMG. It has worked well since 1980 but Gernold felt it was time to bring it to the next level.

I 've been to the Schloss Dyck 2015 Classic Days and I've seen:
-
North Shore Lake Superior, Minnesota.
In my opinion, it is not a lake it is an ocean!
It was 66 F (19 C) at 9.00am that day, which is not that unusual here in August! ::)

In front of the MB Museum.

Just cleaned both Mercedes, time for a trip out to a beer garden.

Here's my very special summer picture! ;)
Hi Hauser,
I just saw your engine (I'm sure) and car (I think) last Friday when I drove down to SL Tech from Quebec to pick up my new convertible top. I was questioning Gernold about how complete the enigne can be and still be decked into the engine compartment versus assembling things after engine installation. We used your engine as an example to discuss it. If you car is the Dunkelblau painted car next to the enigine, I love your paint.

Levis, Quebec, Canada
-
I wish that you did see my car there. That would have meant that it's back from paint. At least two more weeks before they start color sanding then the car goes back to SLTech.
-
lWell, I saw a Dunkelblau Pagoda without an engine. It had all the chrome on it and, I think, parchment colored (off-white) interior. The interior looked "not new".
Anyway, I wish you luck. It looks like my car will not be finished for PUB2015, but I plan to be there anyway.

Hi,
last sunday, ride through the Odenwald.

Here is my car at Gemutlichkeit 2015. It received the Silver Star Preservation Class at the event.
-
Well done Brad.
BTW - what size tires do have one?
-
The tires are 205 75 14. I could not justify spending $1300 on the firestone tires from Coker tires. I actually just replaced the ones in the picture a few days ago with Uniroyal tires for only $393. My speedometer is about 2 mph lower than the actual speed using the GPS with these tires...

Hi all, have had a great summer. Went last weekend to the Dream Ride, Motorcycles & Cars, bikes & cars from all over the east coast states of USA..To support Special Olempics
-
Here is a favourite place to be a hooligan. And no I didn't leave those marks.
Sorry - picture is tiny. Once I figure out how to put a bigger picture on here I will.
-
Don't know where Jeremy was?
-
Larry or Norma, whatever you do don't let him have the keys :)
-
Went to a local car show today. As promised in my opening post here is a frontal shot I took just before leaving the event for the short 10 mile drive home. The car is ready for the trip to Joe's place at Blacklick, OH ... She handled great with the new tires.
Save drive to all that head to PUB :)
