Title: Help removing Injectors from M189.986 engine....
Post by: scoot on June 20, 2015, 16:31:16
I'm having a little problem removing the injectors for cleaning from my W112.015.   I have removed the center allen bolt and the retaining block.  At that point I can move the injectors around but the will only come out a little and are clearly hitting on things.  So I removed the two allen bolts on either side of the block in which the injectors are resting.  Now the block and the injectors move more freely, but I still don't have enough clearance to remove them.  My best guess is that now I should remove the valve cover, since that is where everything is hitting.   Is that correct?  Or am I doing this all wrong...

thanks
Scott

Got one out with more wiggling.  As with the intake manifold, it's really dirty.

I have NOS just in case you need any. They should pull out without to much effort.

Hi Dan !!!!

I managed to get them all out and cleaned and all of them properly "chirp".  The biggest problem I had was getting them to not leak on the test bench where the pressure line connects to the injector.

I'm afraid to ask how much a new injector is...   I believe that MSRP is around $3000.

Thanks
Scott
ps - the bakelite parts that hold them in - two of mine are cracked and one is replaced with an aluminum block (which looks quite effective).  Thoughts?
