I'm considering replacing my heater control lamps with LED's, but I'm concerned that "cool white" LED's won't provide enough light after filtering by the red, blue, and amber filters. If "warm white" were available, I'd use it, but it doesn't appear that "warm white" is available in the BA7 base. (unfortunately, the bulbs feed multiple filters, so I don't believe I can use colored LED's here) Has anyone had experience installing LED's in the heater controls? Here are the LED's I'm considering: (https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/ba9s-ba7s/ba7s-led-bulb-1-led/10/#/tab/Overview).

The bulbs in the heater controls are designed to be changed with heater controls in-place. Remove the speaker, it's not easy but easier than removing the heater control assembly.

I never could find BA7 LEDs that are bright enough to produce the same effect as the incandescents

I agree with Andy, the direction of the emitted light in BA7 LED bulbs is not ideal in the heater controls and thus too dim.

I tried it with leds and found that, as said, the light direction is not optimal, hence it does not give good results. I used a bulb that is 1 watt more (3 or 4 watts I think) and like how lit the levers are at night.
No, I'm not concerned by the extra heat. The bulbs have been there for a while and all is good. No melted plastic!

Thanks for getting me to think about bulbs while my heater control is in a box in the attic of my garage. Time to change them while it's easy.
