Title: Fog Lamps Relay
Post by: alchemist on May 13, 2014, 01:44:30
My 67 230SL fog lamps were working when they are activated by pulling the light switch. Off the sudden, I heard a pop sound and the lamps went out. I checked the wiring connections to the lamps and found no voltage. The bulbs are checked OK. My question is there any relay that controls the fog lamps? If so, where is the location of the relay? Is this relay available on the market?

I checked the wiring diagrams and found that the fog lights are wired directly to the light switch. If anyone knows of any relay controlling the fog lights, please respond.

No relay but it gets voltage from fuse 8, hopefully it was the fuse you heard and not the switch.

there is a small fuse block on a bracket bolted to brake booster with a fuse inside for the fog lamps

I  should have known the 230 would be different.

Thank you Al and Gary for your input. I'll check and fix the fuse, that will save me time to search for no voltage to the fog lamps.
