Title: European Event, September 2014. Goodwood Revival
Post by: JamesL on October 02, 2013, 21:21:03
Folks, this is going to happen but we need to firm up numbers BY THE END OF THE MONTH (October) as the Goodwood Revival tickets go on sale then!

As mentioned in my original post, it's not going to be cheap - the UK isn't!
But here's what we know:

Accomodation
Likely to be in the region of £175/€200 per room per night including breakfast and we are still firming up where that will be. However, we will likely spend 2 nights at the Brooklands Hotel next to the Brooklands Museum and Mercedes Benz World, with whom we are in discussions about using their facilities including the track on the Saturday morning. In all likelihood we will be there Thursday and Friday nights and move to another location for Saturday night. Dinner location(s) and cost tbc.

The original idea of staying at Goodwood has fallen by the wayside as the company that do it are still undecided if they will even be at Revival next year - and were (even more) expensive!

GOODWOOD REVIVAL
Tickets for the Friday:
~£38 per person Entry ticket- you can't get in without one but this is the only "compulsory" item
~£30 per person Grandstand ticket. This is the "roving" ticket allowing access to any grandstand and thus somewhere to sit... Also useful if wet, like this year!
~£12 Programme - including Goodwood Radio earpiece - the radio broadcasts have a good reputation as they interview owners, drivers etc as well as explain what the heck is going on! This costs 25% more on the day

So for 2 of you, that's between €90 minimum and €170 all in. Prices above are 2013 prices and of course may increase but if we block-book more than 40 Entry tickets, they are discounted by the vast sum of 5%. Programme/grandstand tickets will be 2013 prices plus whatever they reckon they can get away with!

As the tickets go on general sale at month end and will go pretty quickly, we need to get accurate numbers - and deposits from you - for your attendance. Access to the Pre-1973 car parking is free (woohoo!) and we will aim to arrive in convoy early on (Gates open at 07.30) but departure time will be up to you! We will provide routings to/from that avoid the worst of the traffic.
Revival Friday is testing day and normally less crowded.

BUT when is it?
"I am afraid to say that we do not know the dates as yet ourselves even. We will have provisional dates within the next 2 to 3 weeks and these will be released on our website as soon as we have them." - This came from the Goodwood Ticket Office this afternoon!

However, based on the dates of the last three Revivals, we are assuming it will be the weekend of 12-14th September. As soon as we hear something, I shall post the dates in this thread.

This means the European Event itself will most likely be from the evening of Thursday 11th to morning/lunch on Sunday 14th September 2104 so folk can head home

What you need to do
All you need to do is decide if you want to come, can make those (approximate) dates, and before Saturday 26th October :

Once you have replied, we will get a booking/options form to you which will include some bank details to you requesting a deposit of £200 payable by the end of the month. By which time we will have exact dates AND be able to secure the Goodwood tickets on the 31st October. That will also firm up numbers for discussions with hotels and so on. By way of comparison, the Ardennes event was about €700

Goodwood Circuit is the perimeter of a Second World War airfield and became a circuit in 1948 and was last used in anger in 1966. So anything from between those years is welcome as can be seen from the pictures in the link (although Mr Bean is lost on me but Rowan Atkinson is a bona fide petrolhead with a McLaren F1 (and races his cars at Revival) so that's OK)...
https://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&q=Goodwood%20Revival&tbs=imgo:1
As you can see, dressing "in period" is encouraged...

And my current favourite image...

If you'd like to come for the European Event itself but NOT Goodwood, that's OK, just let us know! But we suggest reading through the following link first!
http://www.goodwood.co.uk/revival/about/about.aspx

Thanks and looking forward to seeing you in September

So far I've had
interest on here and no PM from some of you
PM from some of you and no interest expressed here
and
not all PMs have had an email address.

Really folks... it's not difficult ::)
If you want to come...
it'd be nice if you'd POST here

you MUST PM me with an email address - I'm too lazy to be chasing down email addresses! ;D

We are prepping a form to complete etc but I'd rather put bank details in an email than post them on here :o

Will most likely attend some of the European events (with wife) but probably not Goodwood itself. As I'm in East Sussex, which is quite close to Goodwood, it's unlikely that we will need accommodation.

Hope my engine work is done by then ! :(

This is going to sound silly but time is tight....

Goodwood Revival Tickets go on sale a week today and so if you are interested in attending the Goodwood portion of the 2014 event with us - so far we have 25 cars  signed up with deposits paid - you need to get details to me and some cash...

To do that, PM me with an email address and I shall get across to you what you need to sign up.

POSTING INTEREST IN THIS THREAD IS NOT ENOUGH TO GET ON BOARD!

Thanks all!

OK, we are in. Well, at least we have something to do on Friday 12th September next year ;D
61 Entry Tickets at £42 each
57 Grandstand tickets at £31 each
37 Programmes at £12 each

And details of 28 Pagodas passed on to Goodwood for the Pre-73 parking. We'll be a couple more than that as some people are getting their own tickets via GRRC membership

Fingers crossed for the weather and now we can relax a bit and turn attention to what else we are going to do, hotels and all the "normal" stuff of pulling an event together.

I shall email those with tickets over the weekend, just to confirm

If you did not complete the form, you have not got tickets but you are still more than welcome to join the event, either  including your own sourced Goodwood tickets or for the rest of the event - which will run through late Sunday morning.

Garry- You can still get the General Admission tix here. Doesn't seem to be any grandstands left though?

https://ticketing.goodwood.com/Tickets.html

Other tickets will go onto Ebay nearer the time.  If there are enough alcoholics we can organise a coach transfer for the event form the hotel so lift wise should be ok- We will work it out.

On these events,  if you have at least 2 nationalities in a room, there will always be a party!  We should have a supplement to pay to have clear heads in the morning. Peter, you have not added your name but i believe you to be the instigator!

James, as you know we will organise our own tickets just make sure you block out plenty of extra rooms for late comers until the option expires at the hotel.

For sure

1 x me
1 x Damian
maybe one extra room for Jai.

Just an update for those of you who may think I've bought a new ZF 5 speed with your deposits ;)

We have Goodwood Tickets for the Friday - that took most of the funds
We are trying to pin down some hotel rooms - by some I mean 34 in mixed formats. I think we are getting there on that. Saturday 13th is proving tricky as apparently people like getting married on September Saturdays (to be fair, I did on Saturday the 20th, albeit many moons ago) and a big wedding requires a load of rooms!

As soon as we have hotels confirmed, I will update you again. However, things are moving...

Am I not in, having just spent $5k on tickets to get there? Panic.

The last communication I had with you on 09/10/2013 was

I plan on booking some "spares" as I know we're a long way out and if
they don't go, I can sell them on at cost so take as long as she needs:

Tickets are still available for Goodwood,  so if you still fancy going but have not yet booked with James then get ticket here

https://ticketing.goodwood.com/Packages.html

Then let James know you want to be added to the hotel rooming list. Worst case you will be at a hotel close to the first group that are booked up to now (including Garry  :) ) but hopefully all will be in same hotel.

Hi all

Im based in the UK and I'm still waiting for confirmation of another family event that weekend of Goodwood Revival. Most likely it will be fine for me to come on the Friday and the weekend. I will make my own arrangements for tickets / accommodation (friends nearby), once all is confirmed.

What I would like to ask is that if I can join on the Friday / rest of the weekend with my car if I book my own tickets? Or do I need some special pass to be in the area of the Pagodas Celebration?

Thanks

David

David - make sure you get "tax free parking" and nearer the time, drop me a line and we'll arrange a meeting point on our way into Goodwood so we "all" (yes, I am being VERY optimistic) arrive, and thus park, together

Hello James,

Very pleased to hear from you. I understand that the task is not easy, but am sure that you will find good accomodation.
We will not come from Australia, but will have to book the ferry well in advance.
Do you have more information on the program of the event ? What about getting in Southampton (from Dieppe or le Havre) on Thursday ? morning or afternoon ? and about leaving Goodwood on Sunday afternoon or Monday morning  ?

Jean Michel

We've been working on the principle that most of those arriving from across the sea will use the Dover or Harwich areas so have been aiming for the first hotel (we have 2) to be relatively close

However, I can assure you that Southampton would be an EXCELLENT point of arrival, as would Portsmouth - far better than Dover ::). Not too bad for departure either! Tis all the younger folks getting hitched that has made the hotel thing a little challenging but Andy has, I think, got us over the line.

Next week will be an update via email to all those who have signed up

Hi James,

I posted in the original thread ... I shall post it here again.

I will be in the UK and Germany in September traveling by train (I did the train using the RailPass in 2011 and it was great). I will be joining 20 Pagoda's in Hamburg, Germany on September 4, 5 and 6th. My plans are to make it a 3 week holiday visiting family apart from the Hamburg meet. Two of the Pagode drivers in Germany will have no passenger and I am invited to drive with one of them during the Hamburg meet since of course I cannot take my Pagoda along. :)

I will be in London, UK and am thinking of scheduling my holiday in such a way to take in at least one of the 3 days at the Goodwood Revival. I'm wondering what would be the best of those three days to attend.

I notice that that Erik might not have a co-driver (passenger), unless he intents to take part in the racing events? I would be happy to meet him (provided he does need a co-driver) in Brussels or any train station along his route. I assume the caravan would be taking the EuroStar to London, UK.

I will be flying in from Canada into London, UK scheduling my holiday around the Hamburg meet and the Goodwood Revival event would be no problem for me. In any event I like to attend one of the days I would be making my own way from London, UK to the event (should there be no offers as a passenger), and return to London, UK since I do have family in London, UK before returning home to Canada.

Should anyone from France, Italy or Germany drive to the event (and is in need of a co-driver that would of course share with the petrol) my 3 week train travels include stops in Paris, Zurich, Stuttgart, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Berlin and Hamburg of course.

Edit typo "Goodwood"

UPDATE May 30, 2014 ...... Unfortunately I must cancel my trip this year due to declining health of my wife. She is now in a wheelchair and my travel plans for the foreseeable future have to be put on hold.

i have never been before so is it 50's or 60's. mid 60's same (as my car) is way different to early 60's as it almost Beatles and Mods look as opposed to tweeds and cardigans. chalk and cheese.
which is right and if anyone has a clue why, so i get it.

Title: Re: European Event, September 2014. Goodwood Revival
Post by: JamesL on August 16, 2014, 19:30:41
To be clear...
The Revival Meeting is to recreate the period when the track at Goodwood was used for car and bike racing. This was from 1948 to 1966. So lots of de-mob suits, military uniforms, teddy boys, mii-skirts, mods and rockers. Too early for hippies and flower power! "Period" is of the track, not your car!

Gents

1940’s Fashion

For men, the wartime austerity resulted in the Utility suit, with its distinct lack of pleats, sleeve buttons and patch pockets. For men and women, accessories such as hats, gloves, scarves, cravats and waistcoats were vital to lift their rather drab mend-and-make-do outfits.

A man in uniform is always a pleasing sight for the ladies, so why not wear an Army or RAF uniform from the period – in keeping with Goodwood’s WWII RAF history?
1950’s Fashion

In the 1950’s men opted for sleek hairstyles, narrow and sharper cuts for their suits, moved away from hats, embraced casual knitwear, khaki trousers and blazers. The influence of pop culture had a pronounced fashion influence – the anti-authoritarian Brylcreem-enhanced Teddy Boy burst onto the scene, rock ‘n’ roll reverberated through the fashion world and the Mods emerged.

Why not try a debonair look by wearing a blazer, turn-up flannels, accompanied by a cravat, a Panama or Homburg hat; and don’t forget a touch of Brylcreem – of course. Accessorise with a rolled-up umbrella, cigarette holder or eye-glass and finish off a top-class and sophisticated look that Cary Grant or Terry Thomas would be familiar with.
1960’s Fashion

Suits drifted away from pale, toned shades, menswear was now bright and colorful. It included frills and cravats, wide ties and trouser straps, leather boots and even collarless jackets. Ties were worn even five inches wide, with crazy prints, stripes and patterns.

For that dandified look opitomised by Brian Jones, try wearing a crushed velvet or stripped double-breasted suit, brocade waistcoat and a shirt with frilled collar. In the late 60’s the androgynous hippie look was in style. Both men and women wore frayed bell-bottomed jeans, tie-dyed shirts, workshirts, and headbands.

Perhaps you might prefer a mechanic’s white cloth overall (with charcoal for oil stains), leather boots, and accompanied by a flat cap, leather belt and clockwork stopwatches.

Ladies

1940′s Fashion

The shortage of fashionable fabrics – and the loss of design direction from Paris – resulted in the rise of ‘Utility Fashion’ for ladies, defined by knee-length skirts, sensible flat-heeled shoes and square shouldered jackets that recalled the cut of uniforms.

A Girl in Uniform – For that post WWII era, why not try a uniform, always a smart and neat alternative! Be a WREN, land girl, police woman or nurse for the day!
1950’s Fashion

With clothing and cloth rationing but a dim memory, the 1950s ushered in a bold and glamorous look, headlined by the glossy styles of post-war Paris. The result was tailored hourglass-accenting cuts and a smart polished look.

For that sophisticated couture look, epitomised by Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, try wearing a voluminous dress clinched with wide belt, slender high heels, glamorous hat with matching sleek gloves, and seamed nylon stockings. If the classical style of the English country garden is more appealing, how about a floral summer frock or twin set and pearls and matching tweed suit, accompanied by a ‘church’ hat, fox fur, small handbag and gloves to match.
1960’s Fashion

The political and social upheaval of the 1960s was reflected in its groundbreaking fashions – it was a decade in which the bikini, mini skirt, bell-bottom jeans and Capri trousers made their debut, and it saw the clash of the Mods and the Rockers. Carnaby Street and Chelsea’s Kings Road influenced the fashion world, Twiggy and Jean Shrimpton dominated the catwalk and fashion fully embraced the sex ‘n’ drugs ‘n’ rock ‘n’roll mood that defined the Swinging Sixties.

For that Jackie Kennedy look try a short boxy suit in pastel colours with oversized buttons. If you’re inspired by top models of the day such as Twiggy, Colleen Corby or Jean Shrimpton, try a velvet mini dress with lace collars and matching cuffs topped off with false eyelashes and pale lipstick.

OK... Here's a question...

The GATES for Goodwood Revival open at 07.30am. Track action starts from 08.45

It's about 80 minutes drive from the hotel to Goodwood

What time should we be leaving the hotel ?

It'd be nice to arrive in a group (or groups) bearing in mind that
a) not all of us are quite as old car mad as others and it might be a long day...
b) there MAY be drink involved on Thursday night and
c) the later we leave, the worse the traffic is likely to be

I'm currently thinking 08.15 but open to offers from you!

Local info: the traffic will be horrendous around Goodwood so earlier the better I guess.
Do we get to park on site or in the adjacent fields?
Also most local restaurants/pubs will not take orders after 9pm and may
require booking in advance on a Friday night.
There is nowhere within walking distance of the Rhinefield House Hotel.
Looking forward to meeting all
Cheers

Sitting in endless traffic queues ringling slowly towards the area is pretty useless...
IMHO better to suffer an early rise/departure in order to reach the parking area in good order

Hi guys, I have been on the Saturday and Sunday for the past two years and can say that the traffic is not too bad between 8-10am. Maybe about 20 mins to get to the pre-74 car park from the surrounding roads. Also, it is Friday that we are going, so there will be less traffic anyway for Goodwood, but you may get local rush hour traffic from especially around Southampton and Chichester. Also, as mentioned before, bear in mind that it will be a long day if you want to stay till the evening...

The marshals usually direct you to the first available space in that car park, unless we request to park in a designated area, but I guess we will have to request this before hand. Given that this is a very large field, I wouldn't have though this would be an issue, especially on Friday.

In any case, it will be a great opportunity to meet you all!

Thanks

The plan is to arrive as a group - question was, what time is acceptable to leave the hotel to get there bearing in mind people
a) want breakfast
b) are sort of on holiday
c) need to get dressed up
d) want to avoid the worst of the traffic!

I believe that "Revival" traffic is far less than "Festival" traffic and Friday should again be less busy  than the Sat & Sun,
so would expect a post breakfast start to be ok.

But we are willing to be guided by those with more experience in these matters.

James,
Is there a possibility convincing the hotel to provide breakfast already a bit earlier for us that Friday?
Let's say 6.30 or so? :o
I mean we are quite a few people at their location... ;)

I think, the earlier we head off, the better. And I am saying that as a typical late bird. But I definitely do not want to get stuck in traffic jams again ... with divaesque overheating ignition coils or so ... :P :P

Just my 2 cents ....

About the friday morning breakfast I have a question James... Is there a bar in the hotel? ::)
Bearing in mind that we all meet after a long period, (50th anniv. Germany) and  remembering
the ambiance up the hill there , I would say a 7.30 breakfast rather then a 6.30 one, would be
realistic.
Traffic will not be that much of an issue I think, driving in group over there the more...
And indeed it will be a long day for most of us.

Count down has started

This past weekend we had blue skies, no wind and 70 degrees (in old money), we had cloudy skies, a stiff breeze and 65 degrees, and yesterday (being a public holiday) we had no wind, 60 degrees and a deluge

Today, it's windy, grey and mid 60s. But no rain at the moment. At least where I am! So yes... come prepared!

If you would pay the extortionate landing fees and I wasn't going under the knife on Friday I would fly you in! It certainly beats sitting in traffic jams even in a Pagoda.

In case the email of a week or so back was spammed out...

Seeing as the Polish gang have gone and organised their own cross-border get together (I wonder if they are going to the Ukraine...:-! ) (
http://www.sl113.org/forums/index.php?topic=21011.0 ), in the spirit of a wider Europe, I guess I need to do a name change. Except the Rally
Plates arrived today and they say European Event. Sorry Stan: Too late my friend!

I came across the attached this morning and thought it might help you get a little better prepared - or dare I say excited -  for Goodwood
Revival. On the map, the "tax-free parking" (our cars) are normally close to the area marked "Over The Road" on the right hand side of the
map. Hard copy of these pages will be in your welcome pack/Rally Book on arrival. In there will also be a name card with your dining choices
printed on it. That will need to be brought to drinks (from 6pm) and placed on a table before we eat so the wait staff can work out who's
having what (and I don't steal your beef).

There's a second email coming to you from me today or tomorrow regarding food AT Goodwood and a couple of logistics items for the Friday.

We have 64 people for Thursday's dinner at Rhinefield. About the same number at Goodwood. 67 for lunch and at least some of the drive on
Saturday and 64 (but not the same 64!) for dinner that night. That's going to be over 30 Pagodas at some point! All being well, we'll collect
3 Pagodas on the way from Rhinefield to Brooklands - assuming we are not ALL lost... I am thinking of running a quiz to determine who the
joiners/leavers are but that would mean I'd have to work out who they are myself!

A couple of logistic issues...
On Thursday 11th, aim for
Rhinefield House Hotel
Rhinefield Ornamental Drive
Brockenhurst
Hampshire
SO42 7QB

+44 845 072 7516

This is south of the western end of the A27/M27 near Southampton. In Lyndhurst, it's easiest to follow the A35/Bournmouth signs and the
hotel is signed (to the left) about 5km outside of Lyndhurst.

Parking is not gated and is outside - unlike Brooklands (Saturday night) which IS gated but still outside - but is illuminated and far enough
away from anywhere to be a deterrent!

We can check in from 2pm. If you are earlier, they may still be working up a room for you but there IS a spa/pool at which to pass the time
until 6pm when the bar opens...

The latest edition of Octane magazine has a Goodwood article entitled "Arrive in Style" - double page picture of a dark blue/tan 230 with the
hub cap logos blanked followed by a half page on what to arrive in if the sun is shining. Pray for sun!

This is my car this morning. Here's the story. After returning from Copenhagen (remember from other stories: a long, very wet drive) we parked the car in the garage but left the boot lid open. Yes: I did not think...

Because I had an achilles tendon problem, and am hobbling around on crutches, I did not go into the garage until this morning (some 5x24 hours) as I needed to get the car to the shop for it's bi-annual APK (road-worthiness certification) and a small service. This morning, the car did not start. Battery completely depleted… because of the courtesy light in the boot. Tried to put it on RECOND with my trickle charger but the battery is so dead, it does not want to recondition the battery. Because I can't walk, I can't go and buy a battery and replace it myself (because I can't stand on two legs, and even then removing the old battery and inserting the new one is hard enough).

So I rang my workshop guy Alex, who sent over a friend with a trailer, and a booster pack. And he loaded the car. Alex will inspect the car today still, and hopefully (fingers crossed) I'll have it again on Wednesday afternoon, ready for the trip to the UK.

Dress code: casual except on Friday when I'll be wearing a suit too! And maybe crutches… I hope that will be resolved by Wednesday too...

This was my good lady wife and I last year. We will be heading to Goodwood independently along with friend in his car as well this year. I have met Larry and Norma before but few others of the club.  Wandering around in the Pre 73 Car Park  is so much part of the event and I look forward to bumping into you all there.

My car is a 280 SL reg 828HP

Safe journey to all and looking forward to a super weekend.

Tom,  maybe I come with you on Friday and Achim on Saturday. That way everyone has a co driver. Will talk on Thursday as I also want to talk to you about shipping to and from UK to USA.

See you all there.

Tomorrow, a gaggle of 5 Pagoda's, one W114 and I believe an MGB (Don't ask) will convene at Calais and take the Channel Tunnel across to the UK. There we will meet up with a couple more Pagoda's and then convoy via the M20, M25 to the hotel that will be the location of the Pagoda SL Group European Event 2014.

At the hotel we will meet further members from Sweden, Denmark, France, Germany and from all over the UK…

Hi All,

What a fantastic time we had.

Unfortunately I could not stay for the full weekend due to work commitments but we arrived on Thursday evening and stayed until the end of Goodwood.

We had a fantastic journey down to the hotel, top down all the way for 160 miles and my son loved it. Arrived at the hotel to be greeted by a sea of pagodas and a very welcoming James.

After my son and I had a very quick dip in the pool, we started to meet other members. Lovely to meet you all.
Some of you have made some very impressive journeys to be with us in the UK! Wow well done!

Anyway I wont ramble but thank you to James for organising an excellent event. I dont think ive ever been to any owners club event thats been this well organised..

Goodwood was a fantastic day.
Our members looked fantastic in their period outfits!
Unfortunately I didnt manage to organise our outfits in time, but next year we know what we need to do!

After doing several laps around Goodwood, my son and I were exhausted by 4pm, so we left to make our way back home - which was another lovely top down drive.

I hope the others are still enjoying the weekend. We are sad that we could not stay longer as it was really great fun.

Next time we will make sure we are more organised and can stay the whole weekend.

p.s. some lovely Pagodas we have in the club, some really class cars. I couldnt stop myself from admiring them on Thursday evening all parked side by side!
I thought mine was nice but there were some lovely restored cars on show.

Pics to follow.

Thanks

Jay & Rishi

Yes, on Friday we were all over the left hand end (looking at the front of the cars) of the "car show" about half a dozen rows from the front. That was it - we are not the Jag Drvers club who seemed to have their own area for their cars. We arrived (mostly) together, a challenge given the traffic getting in and the hour+ journey up the M27

Colin... Don't mention the paint finish...

Jay, great to meet you and Rishi. Credit to you and the little man for lasting as long as you did on Friday. he's likely exhausted! (I am). My brother is en route to look at a 123 coupe as I type!

At Goodwood Jon and I had the chance to sneak into the paddock (members only) as the guard wasn't paying attention. So many iconic race cars to see. We spotted Jackie Stewart in a Lotus.

Virtual community is better than no community. Some of you may have seen the little red 911 that had an argument with a truck just before we got to Goodwood.... Well, here's an update and some pictures.

Basically, it's not terminal

Looks like a Dutch car?

An excellent European Event, superbly organized by JamesL, was enjoyed by all. I've uploaded my photographs here:

I've uploaded my pictures here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/pagodaslgroup/sets/72157647301334460/

I also recommend Martijn's sets, especially for some unique photographs at Brooklands:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/54141674@N07/sets/72157647636134475/ (Goodwood) and https://www.flickr.com/photos/54141674@N07/sets/72157647573965896/ (Brooklands)

David Wahi also has some nice photographs at Brooklands (https://www.flickr.com/photos/67828893@N00/sets/72157647655216645/)

I hope to get some Aerial photographs taken with a drone too…

Here's my albums from last weekend's event. I divided them into Goodwood and Brooklands ...

Goodwood:  https://www.flickr.com/photos/brianakre/sets/72157647720023115/

Brooklands: https://www.flickr.com/photos/brianakre/sets/72157647308965818/

Kudos to James for organizing an excellent adventure, and to all who took part for welcoming my friend, Tim, who wasn't too sure about coming all the way over from the states to hang out with a bunch of Pagoda fanatics. I think he's thinking of buying one now, just to take part again!  I told him to buy a project car while he can still afford one ...

Who wants to join us for another excursion to Goodwood in 2015??

Excellent Photos! You all have made fabulous shots, David, Peter and Brian. It is great to see the event from another perspective. And I don't mean the height :D
I keep watching it over and over again. Thanks for posting.

Hi All,

I don't have so many Photos to share, but we really have to say "Thank you" to James for organizing such a great Event. And we also wanna say "Thanks" to Achim for guiding us on our first European Event. We had such a great time and even my wife switched from "such a waste of time" to "we have to do this again"! ;D

Regards

Fritz

Hi,

I have added one more video, because the 3rd was shortened by Flickr

see again on

The complete videos (in 2D or 3D) require a lot of memory.
I could post them on Dropbox.

Those who can access the ITV player may be able to find the Goodwood Revival show that ws broadcast at 9pm this evening (an hour ago).

It may appear on the player or on a YouTube channel over time... If, like me, you barely saw a car move in anger, this could be good!
