Title: What is the Best fluid for 4sp transmission on a w111 or w113

Looking to change out fluid for both of them.  I remeber adding a qt. of Red Line to my old 71 250c.  It seemed to make a big difference.  I don't want to do this for these classics unless the wisdom of the experts advise.

Is this a manual or automatic? For an automatic, I use a name brand Dexron ATF with no additives. Even with a manual trans, I can't imagine anything fancy is needed.

Yes.  ATF is the oil for the manuals as well.
