Title: posting pictures
Post by: gatorjaws on August 02, 2011, 20:27:29
Sorry but the link that shows the instructions for adding pictures to a topic discussion will not open. Can anyone help me?
P.S. I am very challenged when it comes to this sort of thing

When posting a message or replying, do NOT use the Quick Reply at the bottom of the message page.
To attach an image, must use the regular reply page by clicking "Reply"

When starting a new thread, the regular Reply page will automatically come up.

After adding the Subject and wording of the message, look at the bottom of the page.
You will see "Additional Options". Click to see some options and the Attach button.

To select the image you want to post, Click "Choose File". You can browse your hard disk to find the image file.

Click "More Attachments" to post as many as 4 images in one message.

The usual formats can be posted with jpg as the most common.

Be careful of the image size. Today's cameras can take photos that are too large to be seen conveniently on a computer monitor. A large image can be attached to a message but it will be difficult to view as it will more than fill the monitor and entire image cannot be seen at one time.

Best size for a typical image is to have the largest dimension about 650 pixels or maybe 850 pixels. Photo software can reduce a large image or the camera can be set to take the photos at about the 650 size so re-sizing is not necessary.

Sorry all, I had some website problems yesterday which made parts of the site inaccessible. An hour of headscratching and messing later I had it all fixed again.

Here are the bits of info on posting pictures:

I've made a couple of changes to the pictures functions, that all of you will notice. On all new attachments:

Peter,

Have you also changed how the home page appears with the ‘unread posts’ tag going from top left to mid right above the “print’ line or is my computer doing its normal, 'I will do what ever i fancy today’ routine.’

Garry,

I've made no software/layout changes for the last 6 months or so. In Chrome and Safari on a Mac all looks OK. On my iPhone it looks fine.

On Windows 10 with Edge it all looks fine to me to.

What are you using and what did you change?

I am using Safari on my Apple laptop.   Whilst in the US I used the computer with the free wifi in the hotel and it installed some cookies that I removed and for some reason the layout of the home page changed. I will start again. It is obviously something I have done.

Thanks Peter

That's typically what you would see if you were looking at it on a Phone... so... either your window is too narrow, or you've chosen a user agent setting that sets the window size to that similar to a phone.

Try resetting your browser settings...

Or click on the little white arrow pointing down in the top left corner...
