Title: A/C vent disassembly

I am disassembling my a/c for cleaning and would like to repaint the vents with chrome spray.  However, I am having difficulty removing the center direction "guide" and I after much pulling, I thought I would ask for advice before I break it.  Attached is a photo of the black piece that I can't get out.  Can anyone advise if comes out or not?

go to motoringinvestments website. They talk about it in the restoration documentation of the DB158 with parchment leather. the process is vacuum metallizing

maybe they will assist you and tell you who did it for them
