Title: Re- USA Style headlights

The headlights on my 280sl have stamped on the right headlamp LE1657AC with a chrome bezel / rim 1305 542 039 and on the left headlamp LE1657AN with a chrome bezel / rim 1305 542 059. When i look in the Tech: Manual both have amber lenses as per the the headlight style AJ.As the LHS side is damaged and will require replacement i have 2 questions,
  1-Have the amber sections been added later( they are held onto the lens with 4 screws) ?
   2-What would be the correct assembly to obtain?
