Title: 1st place at 300sl convention
Post by: drmb on September 15, 2008, 09:05:32
I recently completed a five year restoration on a 300sl roadster, the owner and myself shipped the car from Newzealand to sonoma for the gullwing convention, we took out 1st prize in the roadster show class, made us feel very proud. The other highlight of the weekend was visiting the Keller collection, also met Heidi from this forum in her blue 280sl.

Congratulations!

I suspect Mercedes 300SLs are quite rare in Newzealand. I am sure it is much more difficult and expensive to outsource parts and services also. Is it a right hand drive car?

I don't think they made 300SL's in RHD. They made 190SL's and many other cars but I don't think they were willing to spend that much on a limited edition car.

The car is  LH drive,we are currently restoring another roadster and a lightweight gullwing.
