I can't find this topic using the Search function. What color should the wheel rims be?

I've seen variation, but the most common seems to be the color of the hardtop (rims and hubcaps).
-
For later cars ie full hubcaps the wheels are black.
-
I understood the rims were the same colour as the body and the hub caps were the same colour as the hardtop.
-
My sig red 230sl has rims which match the hardtop, papyrus white.

Far clarity's sake, when you are asking about "rims" you are asking about the wheel rims on which the tires are mounted and not the hub caps, correct?
My 230SL wheel rims are painted body color (Havana Brown 408) and my hub caps are painted to match the hard top (Light Beige 181).

" I can't find this topic using the Search function."
The search function obviously does not look into our Technical Manual, see:

The outside of the rims usually match the car colour. In my case the wheels on my 230SL are papyrus white. However, the inside of the rims are a silver colour, based upon my spare which was mounted with the original tire. The inside of the rims on the car are also this colour but hard to see due to brake dust and dirt.
