Definitely not, but nicely done IMO.

I think the headlight modification killed it for me.
Those exhaust pipes remind me of the rear jets of the amphibious Lotus Espirit driven by James Bond in the the Spy Who Loved Me...

I have to say Its not for me , but was very clean and creative. It must of cost just as much as it would to restore the car to stock condition like new. But I take my Father as an exsample. When he was alive he modifed his 1968 280SL with a hood with a scoop and made it look stock even had the chrome cowel vent cover cut and modified to enclose the scoop hole. took a stock trunk lid and made a third brake like and used a R107 trunk handle and star. had a emergency triangle custom fited inside the trunk . Chromed the engine bay modiified the Air conditioner unite inside the car.
happy to say some of his ideas did not suite me the lease bit and the 280SL is going back to its former self with dignity and self rightness to carry the three pointed star of the W113 model.

I feel a little sick to my stomach...............

The rear doesn't look all that bad, but the interior, especially the steering wheel and the headlights are a true nightmare.
Too bad...
