Title: tach installation
Post by: rmmchl on September 05, 2008, 16:34:47
i'm trying to get my tach put back in-Really tough-------wrist is all scratched up-Had to stop for now-I'm wore out!  I got the bracket and ground wire on----------Does the cable screw in before or after the bracket is tightned down?---The only way they put these in when they built the cars was to put the tach in first using the middle hole-then putting the center cluster in  using the speedometer hole-then using the radio hole to put that one in-----does anyone have any tricks on how I can complete this-I cant seem to screw the cable in now-I'll undo in at the engine and maybe it will give a little slack

I was able to pull some slack on the cable and attach it to the tach after it was tightened, without loosening it from the engine. I had the tach and speedometer out by removing the tach , I was able to reach around the center cluster to remove the speedometer without too much effort. I didn't even cut or mark my hand or wrist doing it.
