I am in the process of changing my rear brake line along with a 3.27 rear axle. When I disconnected the rear brake line at the master cylinder, I expected fluid to leak from the master cylinder. But there wasn't a drop of fluid. There is fluid in the reservoir, and fluid did leak from the lines at the rear calipers. Is this normal, or am I looking at more work?

The master cylinder reservoir chambers are separated for the front and rear brake circuits... are you sure the rear chamber had fluid?

Waqas, the simplest answer was the right one. The rear reservoir is empty. The thing is I had to replace my reservoir a few months back, and the replacement reservoir is different than the original, and it is not obvious (at least to me) as before to see the difference in fluid levels, front vs. rear. On the replacement reservoir, the front and rear chambers appear to criss-cross!
