Can you top this???   You can't make this up.   A little background- Have 230SL with a bad engine, bought a '68 250SE donor sedan w/frozen engine, towed home 70 miles, pulled engine/tranny as unit, pan off, oil pump frozen in, got bevel gear off idle shaft(oil pump, etc) with a little help.  Then, the sprocket came off-fell off the idle shaft.  No key resistance.  Looked at the key.  It was a 'offset key'!!.  One of the kind for the cam shaft sprocket to offset chain stretch.  

   This has got to be in Shade Tree Hall of Fame! :)

To me it sounds more like LACK of PPP by the previous owner-- Practiced Pagoda Proficiency!
