Title: pistons 230 sl

1967 230sl rebuild. the original pistons are flat, 3 ring,24mm wrist pin. There are pistons available that are the correct size but have a step in the top. In other words not flat. I have been told that using a step piston will result in lower compression and a loss of power. Are the original flat pistons still available?? Is the loss of powere true?

not sure about the flat piston question, a quick call or e mail to metric motors would solve that mystery.
